My Story

My name is Anita Katz. In Spanish, Anita is a small “Ana”, so maybe my parents thought I was never going to grow up? But the inevitable reality is that I did grow… nevertheless, that small Anita with a childish spirit has always lived in me. I am amused by the simple things of life and I’m an easy laugher.

I´m an Educator and a Voice Over. I have dedicated most of my professional life to voice over and production in the Edutainment field. I have a B.A. in Early Childhood Education in Universidad Metropolitana, Caracas, Venezuela.

I´m one of the creators and musical producer of the very successful in Latin America TV program called “Juana la Iguana”,  and since then my passion for voice over started.

I started doing voice over because I liked what was going on at the other side of the booth. I mean, seeing the voice actors performing when we were in post production, being near the singers, the musicians in the studio… I was absolutely delighted. That moment was when I decided I wanted to do that professionally.  So I registered in the Universidad Central de Venezuela to get my voice over certification, then I participated in dubbing courses with well known voice over actors.  So that is how my voice acting career started.

This has been a wonderful add-on to what I was previously doing because I was then able to conceptualize, write, commercialize and also be able to participate in the production as a voiceover.

My podcast “Aprender es Chévere” (Learning is Cool) is an example of this. I wrote and produced 263 clips with content for elementary kids that were broadcasted in the radio in Venezuela.

I also wrote, produced and sang in mi educational/musical project “Valores para ser Mejores” (Values for being a Better Person) which has songs to encourage the good values development and was distributed in México, Argentina and Venezuela by Ediba publishing company in its magazine Maestra Jardinera (Early Childhood Education Teacher).

I used those children’s songs about values for writing a musical play called “El Reino de Garabato – Canto, Juego y Coexisto” showcased at the Aula Magna at Universidad Central de Venezuela.

I wrote, produced, sang and voice overed in my musical recordings “Todo para Tí” which had personalized songs and stories. This was a business in which we commercialized the CDs with the names of the children.

I wrote all the content for a bilingual, screen-free audio toy called StoryPod, in which I selected the songs, translated them to Spanish, wrote original stories, re-wrote fairy tales and wrote all the knowledge content with innovative formats. Ah! and of course, I also voice-overed several characters.

Through all those years I´ve done many commercial, corporate, phone systems, characters, and narration works as a voice over. I currently live in Miami, Florida and have a professional home studio for recording and editing. I can also record in formal studios when it´s required since I have partnerships with professional studios in Miami which have ISDN, Source Connect and all the technology required for working remotely.

Looking forward to working together soon, no matter in which part of the world you are!
